Savvy Cyber Crop

Hi, my family and I
are Holidaying in sydney at the moment!  Spending a relaxing week
with my Husbands parents.
I'm glad we drove up so i could pack some scrap supplies in the car.
The August Scrapbook savvy Cybercrop is currrently on
so i did a couple of the challenges.
this first layout is Renee's Challenge-Distressing.
Lots of sanding here on my photo's and
on the background paper, paper scrunching, Inking and paper tearing.
edge distressing and some texture stamps aswell.
Surely that qualifies as a theme of distressing.
I've got some hidden jounaling on here about
one of my boys and he's obsession with
rubbish bins when he was a toddler.
Gosh did he love carting the bins out to the roadside everyweek,
from the age of about 2, everything revolved around bins.
Very handy having a kid around the house
who is eager to put things in the bin.
Of course now he's eight and things have changed!

And the second layout is a Sketch.

Same child in this layout, Hamish managing to finish half his tryathalon with one shoe on and one shoe off. haha! Boy the kid has some determination!!!
Thanks for stopping by.

123 August

It's been quite a few months since i did a 123 challenge.
So i thought i'd give this months a go.

1) black
2) Multi-photo
3) the word What!

I finally managed to find some studio calico mist. I've been trying to get the white one for ages but it's always sold out everywhere. I found this cream one - next best thing to white I guess- haha!-

Thanks for dropping by :)

Show Us Your Stuff

This is one of the challenges for SUYS for August

this Challenge was to use the quote by Danny Kaye.

As you can see I kind of took the quote quite literally.
And threw/flicked/sprayed/ the paint onto my cardstock ;)

Cheers, thanks for taking the time to look at my scrapping.
:)

bonus Aug-Stuck Sketch

yay my first challenge for the month.

I got a gorgeous kit in the post yesterday from scrapbooking from scratch -lots of yummy Authentique papers. Couldn't wait to get stuck (haha excuse the cheap pun) into!

I used a technique with gesso and paint that i saw by Dyan Reaveley - gosh what a talented lady she is!
It didn't work out exactly how i wanted probably because i didn't have the right colour mist, so i tried inks guess what wasn't happy with that either!  So i tried watering some paint in spray bottle, still no good!!!! Finally i settled on straight paint and mist over the top. Not too bad but i've already started another layout just waiting for gesso to dry and i'm going to try the technique again.

I'm sure you've all heard this quote/poem before. It usually does the rounds of email fairly regularly
but i still like it!

thanks for visiting, off to see if the gesso is dry ;)
Cheers, Leonie

Scrap the Girls-August

This months Scrap the Girls challenge is a quote
by Harold Hubert-
Children need love, especially when they do not deserve it.

 Pretty easy Hey?
The quote  MUST be used either as the title or in the journalling is:

I thought this picture of my daughter suited the quote to a T.
this my sample page.
I used some OA 5 and dime papers and embellishments.
and a lil flag from 'a lil somethin'
Why don't you head over here and check out the
fabulous layouts the rest of the creative team have made.

I sold a canvas.....

Wee bit chuffed with myself.
I sold my first canvas!
Well I should tell you it was to my sister ....but it still counts right?
she wanted a gift for a friend who has just had
twin girls and said she would pay me
to produce a canvas especially for her friend.

I used a Crafters Workshop template and texture paste
to create the birds in the blossom tree.
so happy with how this turned out. love the colours and
the little girls dresses, so cute!!
thanks for visiting.
